Sustainability
At Affinity Devon, we are committed to operating in an environmentally responsible and sustainable manner. We recognize the importance of minimising our impact on the planet and are dedicated to continually improving our sustainability practices.
We believe that by working together, we can create a more sustainable future for ourselves and generations to come.
Here are just a few of the ways that we have already started to make a difference:
- We harvest rain water known as ‘Grey Water’ to be used for the watering of plants.
- On average, each year, 80% of the waste produced onsite is recycled.
- Affinity Devon is a ‘Zero to Landfill’ site - All waste products are either recycled or used as refuse derived fuel.
- Affinity Devon works with ‘Newlife Charity’ which takes broken/damaged stock from our stores and repurposes for charitable causes
In addition to the above, we are working on the below initiatives to further our commitment to sustainability:
- Electric Vehicle Charging Stations: We hope to be installing electric vehicle charging stations in our car park, making it easier for staff and visitors to choose environmentally friendly transportation.
- Bug Hotel Introduction: We will be building a bug hotel on our grounds to provide a habitat for beneficial insects that play a vital role in our ecosystem.
